Job summary

Carolina Beverage Group is seeking a Corporate Document Control Specialist to lead the eQMS and document control across our three manufacturing facilities. You will act as corporate SME for the platform, ensure accurate, controlled, and audit-ready documentation, and partner with Quality teams at each site.

You will monitor lifecycle, support audits, and drive improvements to document control processes, working across domestic and foreign suppliers and coordinating annual compliance exercises.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in document control or quality data management in regulated manufacturing (food/bev/pharma).
• Hands-on experience administering or supporting an enterprise eQMS or document management system.
• Working knowledge of FSSC 22000 or other GFSI schemes and record control requirements.
• Strong organization, detail orientation and cross-location coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as corporate administrator and SME for the eQMS platform.
• Maintain document control standards, retention, naming conventions, and SOPs.
• Monitor document lifecycle and prevent use of outdated/unauthorized docs.
• Support audits including internal, FSSC 22000, GFSI, and customer audits.
• Manage documentation for suppliers domestically and abroad; track expiring docs.
• Coordinate annual recalls, food defense, crisis management, and business continuity exercises.
• Develop training aids and guidance for site document controllers and QA teams.
• Support eQMS upgrades, implementations, and continuous improvement.

Corporate Document Control Specialist

About the Role

Carolina Beverage Group is seeking a Corporate Document Control Specialist to lead our electronic quality management system (eQMS) and document control program across our three manufacturing facilities. This role helps ensure our quality and food safety documentation is accurate, controlled, accessible, and audit ready.

You’ll serve as the corporate subject matter expert for our eQMS platform, partner with Quality teams across our facilities, support supplier documentation and audit readiness, and drive improvements to our document control processes.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the corporate administrator and subject matter expert for the eQMS platform.
• Maintain document control standards, workflows, naming conventions, retention requirements, and corporate SOPs.
• Monitor document lifecycle and version control to help prevent outdated or unapproved documents from being used.
• Support internal, FSSC 22000, GFSI, customer, and other required audits.
• Manage quality and food safety documentation for domestic and foreign suppliers, including tracking expiring documentation.
• Coordinate annual corporate exercises related to trace recalls, food defense, crisis management, and business continuity.
• Develop training and job aids and provide guidance to site document controllers and Quality teams.
• Support eQMS upgrades, implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives across CBG facilities.

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in document control, quality systems, or quality data management within a regulated manufacturing environment such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods.
• Hands-on experience administering or supporting an enterprise eQMS or document management system.
• Working knowledge of FSSC 22000 or another GFSI-recognized scheme and document/record control requirements.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and project coordination skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple locations and teams.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent direct experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Experience with Octave Reliance (ETQ), MasterControl, Veeva, or a similar platform.
• Experience with eQMS implementation or migration.
• Familiarity with FSMA supplier verification requirements, including foreign supplier programs.
• HACCP or PCQI certification, or willingness to obtain one.
