Apply Today!Corporate Director of Facilities ManagementJOB SUMMARY:The Corporate Director of Facilities Management provides strategic and operational leadership for plant operations, maintenance, capital projects, life safety, emergency preparedness, environmental services coordination, and physical plant compliance across a 12-center long-term care organization. This role partners with center leadership, regional operations, clinical teams, finance, procurement, risk management, and outside vendors to ensure each facility is safe, compliant, well maintained, cost effective, and supportive of high-quality resident care.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The Corporate Director of Facilities Management works in corporate, facility, construction, and maintenance environments. The position requires frequent collaboration with center-based teams and may involve exposure to mechanical rooms, construction areas, outdoor grounds, and active resident-care environments. In addition, this position requires the individual to be available for on-call emergencies 24/7.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Develop and execute a system-wide facilities management strategy for 12 long-term care centers, balancing resident safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and responsible expense management.Oversee preventive maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, fire protection, generators, nurse call systems, elevators, kitchen equipment, laundry systems, and other critical infrastructure.Establish consistent standards, policies, checklists, and performance expectations for maintenance operations across all centers.Conduct scheduled site visits and facility assessments to identify physical plant risks, deferred maintenance needs, capital priorities, compliance concerns, and opportunities for operational improvementLead capital planning, budgeting, project prioritization, scope development, vendor selection, and completion tracking for repairs, renovations, replacements, and major facility projects.Partner with center administrators and maintenance leaders to prepare for annual surveys, VDH-OLC surveys, life safety inspections, fire marshal visits, emergency management reviews, and other regulatory or accreditation activities.Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, CMS life safety expectations, building codes, environmental rules, infection prevention considerations, and company policies.Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for maintenance trades, HVAC, fire systems, generators, elevator service, landscaping, waste management, pest control, roofing, and related services.Manage and support emergency preparedness and response planning, including severe weather, power outages, water intrusion, utility interruptions, evacuation support, generator readiness, and disaster recovery.Train Administrators on EOP (Emergency Operations Plan) and facilities information.Review facility-related spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, standardize purchasing where appropriate, and partner with finance to monitor repairs, maintenance, capital expenditures, and contract performance.Provide coaching, training, and technical support to center-level maintenance directors and plant operations staff.Assist with due diligence, onboarding, and facilities integration for acquisitions, expansions, transitions, or newly added centers.Maintain accurate facilities documentation, including asset inventories, inspection records, preventive maintenance logs, project files, warranties, permits, and compliance records.Prepare Life Safety Code (form 2567) drafts for Administrators.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, responsiveness, and service excellence in support of residents, families, employees, and visitors.CORE COMPETENCIESStrong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to work effectively with executives, administrators, clinical leaders, maintenance teams, contractors, and regulators.Sound judgment and practical problem-solving in urgent, high-risk, or compliance-sensitive situations.Strong financial discipline, project management capability, and attention to detail.Ability to balance resident-centered service, safety, compliance, cost control, and operational urgency.Join Our Team and Make a Difference!QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive facilities, plant operations, maintenance, construction, or engineering leadership experience required.Experience supporting multiple facilities or multi-site operations strongly preferred.Healthcare, senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospital, or other regulated environment experience strongly preferred.Working knowledge of life safety code, OSHA standards, fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, building systems, preventive maintenance, and regulatory survey readiness.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital projects, vendors, contractors, timelines, and competing priorities across multiple locations.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with computerized maintenance management systems or facilities tracking tools preferred.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly among company centers required.
