Job summary

ONWARD is seeking a senior corporate development professional to own the financial analysis and execution support behind acquisition opportunities. You will develop defensible valuations, coordinate financial diligence, and provide leadership with decisive investment insights.

In this role, you will build financial models, identify risks, and help drive the transaction process from diligence through closing, partnering with leadership to ensure timely, accurate decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or M&A-focused finance.
• Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, valuation, quality-of-earnings review, and transaction diligence.
• Experience presenting acquisition analyses and recommendations to senior decision-makers.
• Prior experience within an acquisition-driven operating company is preferred but not required.

Job description

Mandate: Own the financial analysis and execution support behind acquisition opportunities. This person will develop defensible valuations, coordinate financial diligence, and give leadership the information needed to make sound investment decisions.

Markers of Success:

First 30 Days:

• Develop a working understanding of the organization’s financial evaluation, diligence, and decision-making processes.
• Begin producing reliable analysis and supporting active transaction workstreams.

First 90 Days:

• Deliver accurate financial models and decision-support materials within established timelines.
• Identify missing information, potential risks, and execution obstacles before they disrupt the process.

Six Months:

• Independently own the financial evaluation of acquisition opportunities and clearly communicate recommendations to leadership.
• Establish a dependable execution rhythm built around accuracy, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.

12 Months:

• Operate as a trusted partner across the transaction process with limited day-to-day oversight.
• Improve the tools and workflows used to evaluate opportunities and support acquisition decisions.

Ongoing:

• Assume broader ownership across the transaction lifecycle and help strengthen the organization’s overall M&A capabilities.

Cash Compensation

This role offers all-in cash compensation of up to $200,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and overall alignment with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
