Job summary

The Columbia Group is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to join remotely with easy access to the DC Metropolitan Area for meetings. The ideal candidate will drive new business, build client relationships, and coordinate meetings while researching potential prospects and responding to client needs.

Required education includes a Bachelor's degree; DoD/Navy exposure is a plus, along with marketing, research, strategic communication, and proposal writing capabilities.

We are seeking a Corporate Development Associate to join our team on a remote basis with easy accessibility to the DC Metropolitan Area for meetings. The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven ability to bring in NEW business.
• Build client relationships.
• Meet potential clients in person.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients; respond to their requests and work with them to resolve issues and meet their needs.
• Schedule meetings, coordinating schedules with clients and other professionals, and confirm meetings 24 hours in advance.
• Research potential client prospects through use of public and private media (or other sources as appropriate).

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in any field (preferably Marketing or Business Administration)
• Experience with the following:
  • DoD and/or Navy Industry A PLUS
  • Marketing and research
  • Strategic communication skills
• Ability to write proposals clearly and professionally
• Ability to operate collaboratively in a team
• Ability to build and maintain spreadsheets tracking multiple pieces of data
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proactive problem-solving mentality and the ability to take ownership of tasks through completion
• Reliability and responsiveness
