About this job

About this job

We’re looking for a sharp, curious corporate development associate to join the deal side of Good Game Collective. You’ll build the models, run the research, and support diligence on real acquisitions across youth sports, entertainment, and enrichment.

Why this role matters

Most of the businesses we buy were built by founders and coaches who care deeply about the families they serve. Our job is to find the right ones, evaluate them carefully, and do right by the people behind them. You’ll help our leadership team move quickly and with confidence. It’s hard to find a seat where the work shows up this directly in real deals.

What you’ll do

Deal sourcing and pipeline: research acquisition targets across youth sports, entertainment, and enrichment, and keep the CRM current with accurate records, outreach status, follow ups, and next steps.

Prioritization: help rank opportunities against GGC’s acquisition criteria and flag the ones worth leadership’s time.

Financial and market analysis: build and update the models used to evaluate targets and structure deals, analyze revenue, margins, and unit economics, and benchmark targets against comparable businesses, summarizing key drivers, risks, and sensitivities.

Diligence support: organize and maintain data rooms, review financial and legal documents, draft checklists, track data requests, coordinate follow ups with the target and our internal teams, and flag red flags and open questions early.

Materials: help create investment memos, management presentations, and internal decision materials, and prepare clear, accurate materials for leadership and investment committee review.

Industry research: track youth sports trends, competitors, consolidation, and valuation benchmarks, monitor adjacent categories that could become future acquisition verticals, and turn it all into short, usable takeaways that inform sourcing and deal strategy.

Other duties as assigned in support of the deal team.

What we’re looking for

Strong financial modeling skills and advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.

Someone who can read a P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement and quickly spot what’s driving the numbers.

Clear, concise writing that turns analysis into materials a leadership team can act on.

Detail oriented and organized across multiple deals at once.

Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.

Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a lean, fast moving team.

1 to 3 years in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or FP&A with meaningful deal exposure. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.

Experience in youth sports, consumer services, hospitality, or multi location businesses is a plus.

Why this opportunity is different

Unlike a typical corporate development seat, you won’t be handed one slice of the deal. You’ll see acquisitions from the first look at a target through diligence and the final decision, across a growing platform that believes in stewardship over extraction and long term development over short term wins. That means broad exposure to different businesses and founders, and the kind of hands on experience that’s hard to find anywhere else.
