Job summary

GameChanger, a remote-first tech company based in New York, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Basketball engineering org. You will lead engineers across iOS, Android, and backend, partnering with Product and Design to make game coverage fast, reliable, and low-friction.

Report to the Director of Engineering for Basketball. You will coach engineers, define delivery goals, raise the bar on craft and reliability, hire strong talent, and contribute to the broader engineering culture

The Position

Our Basketball engineering organization is building and scaling the products that will help GameChanger grow in the most-played youth sport in the country. Within that org, the Coverage team owns the core experience of getting every game onto the platform: scorekeeping, live video capture, and the coaching tools built on top of that data.

As a Senior Engineering Manager on this team, you will lead a cross-functional group of engineers working across iOS, Android, and backend platforms, partnering closely with Product and Design to make covering a game as fast, reliable, and low-friction as possible. You will report to the Director of Engineering for Basketball.

What you'll do

• Coach and develop your engineers, setting clear expectations, identifying growth-oriented opportunities, and establishing a consistent cadence of feedback that fosters both development and accountability.
• Define clear delivery goals for your team, partnering with cross-functional partners to shape priorities, navigate trade-offs and surface risks before they become problems.
• Set and hold a consistent bar for engineering craft and system reliability, especially around live, in-game workflows where failures are highly visible to users on the sideline.
• Hire and onboard strong engineers, keeping the bar high on values alignment, skill fit, and AI fluency.
• Contribute to engineering culture and organizational effectiveness beyond your team through cross-team initiatives and helping shape how the broader org operates.

Who you are

• 4+ years leading engineering teams and 6+ years of software development experience, with a track record of managing and growing engineering talent at all levels.
• You have technical depth in one or more areas of our stack, with enough breadth to engage credibly in architecture conversations, hold a consistent standard for quality and reliability, and maintain the trust of senior engineers.
• You have good product instincts, build strong working relationships with Product and Design partners, and know how to align on priorities in a way that drives meaningful outcomes.
• You are active in developing your own AI fluency and in helping your team do the same. You hold a high bar for judgment and ownership regardless of how code gets written.

The target salary range for this position is between $210,000 and $235,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
