Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a sophisticated private investment and wealth management organization in its search for Corporate Counsel. The role offers autonomy and collaboration with senior leadership in a hybrid setting.

The attorney will handle a broad portfolio, starting with commercial contracting and expanding into governance, real estate, trusts and estates, and tax matters, with emphasis on discretion and professional judgment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of legal experience in a law firm, in-house, or a mix.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience in corporate transactions, real estate, trusts and estates, or tax.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-focused legal counsel across a diverse portfolio of matters.
• Initial focus on commercial contracting with broader exposure to other disciplines over time.
• Support corporate governance and entity management, real estate, trusts and estates, or tax matters.
• Assist with SEC, KYC, and AML compliance matters.
• Work closely with General Counsel and senior leadership, offering strategic input.

LHH is assisting a highly sophisticated private investment and wealth management organization in its search for Corporate Counsel. This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, collaborative legal department supporting a broad range of business, investment, philanthropic, and personal matters within a dynamic private wealth environment. The Associate Counsel will serve as a key partner to the General Counsel and work closely with senior leadership, outside advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

The Role:

This attorney will provide practical, business-focused legal counsel across a diverse portfolio of matters. While the position will initially have a significant commercial contracting focus, the successful candidate will also gain exposure to a wide variety of legal disciplines, including:

• Commercial contracting and contract negotiation
• Corporate governance and entity management
• Real estate transactions and related matters
• Trusts and estates issues
• Gift and estate tax-related matters
• Foundation administration
• SEC, KYC, and AML compliance matters

This role offers significant autonomy, direct interaction with decision-makers, and the opportunity to expand into additional practice areas over time.

Base Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 annually

Bonus: Bonus eligibility and amount are based upon company and/or individual performance.

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
• Substantive experience in at least one additional area, including corporate transactions, real estate, trusts and estates, or tax
• Family office, private wealth, foundation, estate planning, or art transaction experience is a plus
• JD from an accredited law school
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
