Job summary

DraftKings is seeking a Corporate Counsel to build the legal framework for our regulated DKeX marketplace. You will advise on Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC matters, draft policies, and support product, engineering, and operations teams in launching regulated products and services.

You will bring a JD with at least five years of regulatory experience in financial services or derivatives, and partner across functions to translate complex rules into practical business guidance.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited institution with excellent academic credentials.
• At least five years of legal experience, ideally mix of law firm, in‑house, or regulatory work.
• Experience advising clients on financial services regulation, derivatives markets, or exchange regulation.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues under the CEA and CFTC rules.
• Draft, review, and maintain exchange rules, policies, and governance materials.
• Provide guidance on regulatory filings, rule submissions, for DKeX and related initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Market Operations, Compliance, Finance, IT and other teams.
• Monitor developments affecting derivatives markets and advise on risks and opportunities.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate regulatory support as needed.
• Develop practical guidance and scalable processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
