Yardi Systems seeks a Corporate Counsel to serve as a trusted legal advisor and strategic partner across the organization, focusing on commercial transactions, regulatory matters, and a growing payments business.

You will draft and negotiate SaaS and vendor agreements, support payment-processing initiatives, advise on network rules and consumer protection, review data-sharing agreements, and help mitigate legal and compliance risks while enabling growth and operational success.

Qualificações

• J.D. or equivalent with active U.S. bar membership.
• 5–8 years of relevant legal experience (firm or in-house).
• Experience with SaaS, payments, data privacy, and software development is a plus.
• Strong ethics, judgment, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize customer and vendor commercial agreements, especially SaaS.
• Provide legal review and guidance supporting Yardi’s payment processing business.
• Advise on payment network rules, card brand requirements, and state/federal regulations.
• Support consumer disclosures, terms of service, and consumer protection requirements.
• Negotiate with banks, networks, processors, and financial service vendors.
• Review data processing and data sharing agreements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Corporate Counsel serves as a trusted legal advisor andstrategic business partner, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels ofthe organization to provide practical legal guidance on commercialtransactions, regulatory matters, corporate initiatives, and a growing paymentsbusiness. This role supports the company by identifying and mitigating legaland compliance risks, navigating evolving laws and regulations, drafting andnegotiating contracts, managing disputes and investigations, and ensuringadherence to applicable legal requirements, including the Fair Credit ReportingAct (FCRA). The Corporate Counsel works closely with leadership, regulators,and external partners to deliver business-focused legal solutions that protectthe organization while enabling growth, innovation, and operational success.

What You’ll Do:

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize customer and vendorcommercial agreements, with particular emphasis on SaaS agreements.
• Provide legal review and guidance supporting Yardi’s paymentprocessing business.
• Advise on payment network rules, card brand requirements,ACH operating rules, and applicable state and federal payment regulations.
• Support development of consumer-facing disclosures,agreements, and terms of service for payment products.
• Advise on consumer protection requirements applicable topayment processing including UDAAP, Regulation E, and applicable state consumerprotection statutes.
• Negotiate and draft agreements with banking partners,payment networks, processors, and other financial services vendors.
• Review data processing agreements, data use policies, anddata sharing agreements with banking partners, service providers and customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

• Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active Bar membership in the United States with no record ofdiscipline
• Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant legal experience(firm or in-house)
• A genuine teammate — friendly, collegial, and someone peoplewant to work with
• Highest level of professional ethics, personal integrity,sound judgment, and emotional intelligence
• Working knowledge of, or genuine curiosity about, softwaredevelopment, complex relational databases, cloud computing, AI, andsoftware-as-a-service (SaaS)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong and demonstrated ability to work individually and asa team, with minimal direct supervision — calm under pressure and adept atjuggling competing demands
• Interest in learning and analyzing complex statutory regimesand case law, and a talent for turning complexity into clear, sound conclusions
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat®, Microsoft® Word andOutlook, legal AI tools, and ability to learn and use proprietarycustomer/matter management software
• Ability to work at assigned office location
• Occasional travel up to 20%
• Perform tasks for extended periods of time on the computer
• Regular attendance and a regular work schedule are essentialfunctions of this job

Ideal to Have:

• Law firm or in-house commercial transactional experience(SaaS, data privacy, AI a plus)
• Law firm or in-house experience in the payments or financialservices industry
• Familiarity working with software developers a plus

Annual Salary Range: $168,000 - $189,000
