Job summary

TANGENT Technologies, LLC. in Illinois seeks a Corporate Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.

You will partner with the VP of Finance and executive team to ensure GAAP compliance and timely statements while guiding the accounting team. The role requires 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, CPA, and a proven track record in month-end close, consolidations, and SOX/internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA license is highly preferred or required.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Experience in a controller or senior accounting management role.
• Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional) is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure consolidation of results across units/subsidiaries.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Design and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team including staff and seniors.
• Drive process automation and ERP/system optimization.
