Company Overview

The company is a fast-growing, private equity-backed B2B services business. Reporting to the CFO, we are seeking a Corporate Controller or VP Finance/Accounting to join the finance leadership team. We are looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys growing a business and can develop a best-in-class accounting function, ensuring accurate GAAP reporting and scalable systems. There is also an opportunity to help build out the FP&A function and work strategically on the commercial side of the business.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee operational accounting to maintain control and SLA’s in AP, AR, and Sales Tax compliance.
2. Manage revenue recognition in accordance with ASC606.
3. Lead monthly accounting close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports, in compliance with GAAP.
4. Lead annual audit and tax compliance, ensuring deadlines are met.
5. Administer accounting systems, including ERP (NetSuite), and AP and Expense systems.
6. Prepare and analyze financial results to understand performance drivers and share insights with business partners.
7. Assist the CFO with financial analysis to identify operational improvements, cost structures, and investment opportunities.
8. Hire, train, and develop staff to meet organizational needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; CPA and advanced degrees/certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting, especially revenue recognition (ASC606).
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience in the services or related industry, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior leadership role.
• Experience in private equity-backed controllership roles with measurable results, including financial reporting and cash management.
• Experience with M&A, PPA, and accounting integration of acquisitions is a plus.
