Job summary

A fast-growing regional developer is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee financial reporting and lead the accounting team in Irving, Texas. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA, with 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and homebuilding. This onsite role reports directly to the CFO and aims to drive system improvements and maintain financial integrity.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public accounting and/or homebuilding experience strongly preferred.
• Multi-entity consolidation and JV accounting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidated financial reporting.
• Lead homebuilding accounting across divisions.
• Provide technical accounting leadership for complex transactions.

A fast-growing regional developer is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its executive finance team. This role was newly upgraded due to significant growth and will report directly to the CFO.

This opportunity is ideal for either a Big 4 / large public accounting Assurance Senior Manager or a homebuilding accounting leader ready to step into a corporate leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidated financial reporting


• Oversee balance sheet integrity, account reconciliations, and management reporting


• Lead homebuilding accounting across divisions (inventory/WIP, land development, cost capitalization, revenue recognition, warranties, impairments)


• Provide technical accounting leadership for complex transactions (JVs, purchase accounting, non-routine items)


• Design and maintain strong internal controls; lead external audits


• Oversee banking activities, cash controls, borrowing base, and covenant compliance


• Lead and develop the accounting team (6 direct reports)


• Drive system improvements, automation, and scalable accounting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)


• CPA is required


• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience


• Public accounting and/or homebuilding experience strongly preferred


• Multi-entity consolidation and JV accounting experience a plus


• Strong US GAAP, internal controls, and people leadership experience


• Onsite role in Irving, TX


• Reports directly to the CFO
