Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing, PE-backed construction organization. The role will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, treasury, and reconciliations while coaching a corporate team.

You will oversee WIP reporting on 400 active jobs, drive % of completion accounting, and ensure job profitability and accurate billings. Hybrid schedule with occasional remote weeks is available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction accounting experience with percentage-of-completion, WIP schedules, and job profitability.
• Proven leadership experience coaching and developing accounting professionals while staying technically involved.
• Experience with Spectrum Viewpoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the corporate accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, treasury, reconciliations, and related Controller duties, with a goal of closing near the 15th of the month.
• Oversee construction accounting and WIP reporting across ~400 active jobs, including percentage-of-completion, profitability, and over/under billings.
• Manage and develop a five-person corporate accounting team while guiding four Regional Controllers.
• Remain hands-on and willing to engage in detailed accounting tasks when needed.
• Partner with executive leadership and external auditors, supporting the annual audit process.

Corporate Controller – Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the corporate accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, treasury, account reconciliations, and related Controller responsibilities, with a goal of completing the monthly close around the 15th
• Oversee construction accounting and WIP reporting across approximately 400 active jobs, including percentage-of-completion accounting, job profitability, over/under billings, and related reconciliations
• Manage, coach, and develop a five-person corporate accounting team while providing ongoing guidance and training to four Regional Controllers
• Review accounting processes and work product while remaining hands-on and willing to step into detailed accounting work when needed
• Partner with executive leadership, regional operations, and external auditors, including supporting the annual audit process

Corporate Controller – Qualifications:

• Strong construction accounting experience required with hands-on expertise in percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP schedules, job profitability, and over/under billings
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop accounting professionals while maintaining strong technical involvement
• Experience with Spectrum Viewpoint is a significant plus
