Qualifications

  • 5+ years' accounting, finance or controllership experience.
  • Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills.
  • Experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on approach with attention to detail.
  • Experience documenting processes and implementing operational improvements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Confidence working closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance function.

  • Manage vendor relationships, invoices and payment controls.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, audit and compliance activities.
  • Assist with strategic finance projects and future growth initiatives.

An established and growing specialty financial services business is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller / Finance Operations Manager to join its leadership team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, building scalable finance functions, and partnering directly with senior leadership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a broader finance leadership position as the business continues to expand.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the company's leadership team, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while driving operational improvements across the finance function.

This is a highly visible role where you\'ll have genuine influence over how the finance department evolves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance function
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close

About You

We\'re looking for more than a traditional accountant.

You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and taking ownership of finance operations within a growing business.

Have plateaued as a Controller? Want broader operational exposure? Want to work directly with owners?

Aspire to become a CFO within the next 3–5 years.

You'll ideally have:
  • 5+ years' accounting, finance or controllership experience
  • Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills
  • Experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting
  • A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience documenting processes and implementing operational improvements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence working closely with senior leadership

Experience within banking, lending, specialty finance, financial services, private credit or loan servicing would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
