We are looking for an extremely motivated and proactive communications professional who can provide writing, graphic design, photography, and videography support and coordination for a rapidly evolving company in the natural resources industry.

This position is responsible for coordinating internal communications, which includes developing content for the NACCO companies’ internal and external audiences. The primary responsibilities of this position will be focused on the implementation of internal communication programs and the development and maintenance of systems to support effective and efficient dissemination of information throughout the company with a heavy emphasis on video production.

This position will support our communication and marketing efforts to ensure the company presents a clear, professional, and current brand.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business units, departments and employees to assess and support communication needs; serve as a resource for internal teams, ensuring alignment with company messaging and initiatives.
  • Develop communication initiatives and provide support through graphic design, writing and editing for text, photos, videos and graphics.
  • Manage the weekly employee digital newsletter, including planning and development, interviewing employees, designing and publishing, in collaboration with the communications department.
  • Write and design content, on a variety of subjects, tailored to both internal and external audiences.
  • Support the communications department in managing company communications, marketing and branding.
  • Work with external consultants to coordinate and develop content for publication.
  • Oversee the asset library and manage content within the digital asset management (DAM) system.
  • Proofread and edit various company publications.
  • Assist with meeting scheduling and planning, including trade show design and communications.
  • Conduct industry research as needed.
  • Design and produce internal employee feedback surveys and supporting materials.
  • Monitor and track requests submitted through the internal communications and marketing platform.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Video editing and production experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proven writing and graphic design experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style
  • Experience with WordPress, Teams and/or SharePoint a plus

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications
  • At least three years of experience; preferably in Communications
