Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Corporate/Transactional Attorney licensed in Maryland to join our team in the Washington, DC metro area. The role focuses on sophisticated transactional and advisory matters for privately held companies and business clients.

The attorney will draft and negotiate agreements, provide practical legal advice, and collaborate with experienced colleagues while enjoying a supportive firm culture and strong benefits.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Maryland.
  • Virginia and/or DC admission is a plus.
  • Experience handling corporate transactions and general business law matters.
  • Experience drafting sophisticated commercial contracts.
  • Employment law experience, including employment agreements and workplace policies, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of business and commercial agreements.
  • Counsel clients on general corporate and business law matters.
  • Structure and negotiate stock and asset purchase transactions.
  • Prepare shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and corporate governance documents.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial service, supplier, and vendor agreements.
  • Advise clients on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft employment agreements and employment-related policies.
  • Partner directly with business owners and executives to provide practical legal advice.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Manage multiple client matters while meeting deadlines.

We are seeking a talented Corporate & Business Attorney to join our growing Corporate & Business Law practice. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners, executives, and privately held companies on a wide variety of sophisticated transactional and advisory matters.

The ideal candidate enjoys serving as a trusted legal advisor, has strong drafting and negotiation skills, and is comfortable managing multiple matters independently while collaborating with experienced attorneys.
