Am Law Firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Mergers & Acquisitions Associate to join its Corporate practice. This Am Law Firm offers a hybrid work model and exposure to sophisticated M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions for top clients.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of sophisticated transactional experience, strong drafting and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams within deal teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of corporate transactional experience, including meaningful M&A.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Arizona Bar admission or ability to become admitted in Arizona.
  • Excellent drafting, writing, communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within deal teams and manage multiple transactional workstreams.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to handle sophisticated corporate matters.

Responsibilities

Phoenix, AZ | Am Law Firm | 3+ Years Experience | Hybrid

A leading AM100 Law firm is seeking an experienced Mergers & Acquisitions Associate to join its growing Corporate practice in Phoenix.

This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate attorney with at least 3 years of sophisticated transactional experience to work on a broad range of M&A, private equity, venture capital and general corporate matters for sophisticated clients.

The associate will join a collaborative corporate team and gain significant exposure to complex transactions across multiple industries.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of corporate transactions, including:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Divestitures
  • Corporate restructurings and recapitalizations
  • Strategic partnerships and joint ventures
  • Private equity transactions
  • Venture capital investments
  • Fund formation
  • General corporate and governance matters

The role provides an opportunity to develop broad transactional experience while taking increasing responsibility for sophisticated corporate matters and client relationships.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of corporate transactional experience, including meaningful M&A experience
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Competitive lateral candidates will generally demonstrate:

  • Strong Academic Credentials: Excellent law school performance and a strong overall academic record
  • Sophisticated Law Firm Training: Current or prior experience with an Am Law firm, leading regional firm, or highly regarded corporate/M&A practice
  • Direct Transactional Experience: Meaningful hands-on experience executing M&A and related corporate transactions for sophisticated clients
  • Deal Responsibility: Experience with transaction documents, due diligence, deal management and coordinating multiple aspects of a transaction
  • Career Progression: A strong professional track record demonstrating increasing responsibility and development as a corporate attorney

For experienced lateral candidates, the quality, complexity and relevance of transactional experience will be important considerations alongside academic credentials.
