Job summary

The Worker seeks a Corporate and Foundation Relationship Specialist to advance fundraising through strategic partnerships and compelling proposals. You will work with the Chief Development Officer to develop funding opportunities, manage grant submissions, and communicate program impact to funders.

You will build relationships with funders, conduct prospect research, and craft persuasive funding narratives in collaboration with Marketing and Leadership teams.

Help Grow Mission Impact Through Strategic Funding Partnerships

The Worker is seeking a passionate, organized, and relationship-driven Corporate and Foundation Relationship Specialist to support our growing fundraising efforts and help advance our mission. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong writing skills, strategic relationship-building, and research to secure funding that changes lives and strengthens communities.

Working closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Corporate and Foundation Relationship Specialist will play a key role in developing funding opportunities, managing grant submissions, stewarding funder relationships, and communicating the impact of The Worker's programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Management
  • Research, write, edit, format, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundation, corporate, and public funding sources.
  • Manage the full grant lifecycle, including submission tracking, compliance, reporting, award management, and stewardship activities.
  • Ensure all grant applications and reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and funding requirements.
Corporate & Foundation Relationship Management
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective funders.
  • Coordinate funder meetings, site visits, stewardship efforts, and appreciation activities.
  • Develop meaningful engagement opportunities for corporate and foundation partners.
  • Support leadership engagement with key funding stakeholders.
Strategic Funding Development
  • Research and identify new grant and funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of foundation, corporate, and public funding prospects.
  • Monitor funding cycles, application deadlines, and emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct prospect research to support development and fundraising strategies.
Communications & Impact Reporting
  • Create persuasive proposals, reports, impact summaries, funder updates, and stewardship materials.
  • Translate program outcomes, client stories, and organizational data into compelling funding narratives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Leadership teams to communicate organizational impact effectively.
  • Support the development of materials for board and leadership presentations.
Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Partner with Programs, Finance, Leadership, and Marketing teams to gather data, budgets, and success stories.
  • Ensure funding proposals accurately reflect program goals, outcomes, and financial requirements.
  • Help improve grant tracking systems, templates, and documentation processes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, communications, relationship management, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships with funders, donors, partners, or stakeholders preferred.
  • Experience using donor databases or CRM systems preferred; Bloomerang experience is a plus.

Additional Requirements
  • Travel between The Worker sites as needed for meetings, training, and operational support.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability for fundraising events and other organizational activities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to hire.
