Job summary

NWU in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a motivated intern to support the accounting/finance team for a 12-week summer internship. You will assist with first-line reviews of financial statements, prepare reconciliations, and help with various reports and audits.

You are pursuing a related degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and can collaborate, manage priorities, and identify process improvements. Relocation support may be available.

Responsibilities

• Assist with first-line reviews of monthly financial statements, quarterly and annual shareholder reports, FCA Call Reports, Frontier CMR reports, Board reports, and related supporting schedules.
• Prepare and/or review GL balance sheet reconciliations; research discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution.
• Assist with AgriBank quarterly information requests and CoBank Frontier CMR reporting.
• Complete variance, materiality, and ad hoc analyses of financial results and support allocations as needed.
• Perform analysis and other work supporting annual patronage programs.
• Recommend and assist with process improvements, reporting-system enhancements, and updates to accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation requests and remediation of deficiencies.

Your Role

Here's what you will be doing:

• Assist with first-line reviews of monthly financial statements, quarterly and annual shareholder reports, FCA Call Reports, Frontier CMR reports, Board reports, and related supporting schedules.
• Prepare and/or review daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger balance sheet reconciliations; research discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate teammates.
• Assist with AgriBank quarterly information requests and CoBank Frontier CMR reporting.
• Complete variance, materiality, and ad hoc analyses of financial results, and support development of PCA/FLCA allocations as needed.
• Perform analysis and other work supporting the Associations' annual patronage programs.
• Recommend and assist with process improvements, reporting-system enhancements, and updates or modifications to accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation requests, remediation of deficiencies, and fraud-control initiatives.

About You
