Job summary

Frontier Farm Credit in Omaha, NE is seeking a Corporate Accounting Specialist - Accounting - Intern. You will gain hands-on experience supporting core general ledger functions, payroll accounting, and monthly close processes while complying with GAAP, FCA regulations, and IRS requirements. This internship runs for 12 weeks, offering an hourly wage with relocation assistance available and a $500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business, Banking, Finance or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available for a 12-week internship during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries and validations.
• Ensure accurate account classifications and timely issue resolution.
• Support subledgers, amortization schedules, fixed assets, leases, and prepaid accounts.
• Perform payroll and benefits accounting analyses to ensure accurate entries.
• Support monthly reconciliation processes and Call Report analysis.
• Learn FCA/FCS accounting and reporting requirements.
• Assist ICFR team with control inquiries and process walkthroughs.
• Collaborate on special projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned.
