Job summary

CVR Energy, Inc. is seeking an Accountant II in the Corporate Accounting group to perform general accounting tasks for timely, accurate recognition of corporate transactions including SG&A and other accruals.

You’ll prepare journal entries, roll forwards, and analyses for monthly closes, collaborating with AP, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and HR teams to support overall accounting functions. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 2+ years in corporate accounting, advanced Excel, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA or active pursuit of the CPA certification is considered a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close.
• Analyze general ledger balances and financial results, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Credit, Payroll/HR, and Corporate Reporting teams to ensure accurate close.
