Job summary

Great West, an Old Republic Company, is seeking a Corporate Accountant with 2–4 years of experience to join our corporate office in South Sioux City, Nebraska, on a hybrid schedule. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.

You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, assist with state filings and regulatory reports, ensure GAAP and SAP compliance, and coordinate audits while collaborating across departments to improve reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Insurance or statutory accounting experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Assist in preparation of state filings and regulatory reports.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Assist in preparation of state filings and regulatory reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
• Support and coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Partner cross-functionally to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 2-4 years progressive accounting experience required
• Insurance or statutory accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with financial statement preparation and audit coordination
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
