Job summary

Segrera Associates is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Miami to execute month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries across multiple entities. The role supports financial reporting, audits, and internal controls with close collaboration across operations and finance teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least two years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years accounting experience.
• Understanding of US GAAP and GL accounting.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Experience with account reconciliations and financial statement analysis.
• Proficient in Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Experience with intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries including recurring, accrual, reclassification, and adjusting entries.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions.
• Assist with lease and fixed asset accounting.
• Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Support AP/AR and GL activities as needed.
• Support internal and external audit requests and schedules.
• Assist in developing accounting policies, procedures, internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Take ownership of assigned accounting areas and deadlines.

• Manage and perform key activities within the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring, accrual, reclassification, and adjusting entries
• Analyze account activity and investigate unusual or unexpected variances
• Assist with preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for financial transactions and account balances
• Assist with lease and fixed asset accounting
• Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities as needed
• Support internal and external audit requests and provide requested schedules and documentation
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Take ownership of assigned accounting areas and ensure deadlines are consistently met

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
