Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional for a permanent position in Memphis, TN. The role involves preparing journal entries, performing month-end close, and reconciling balance sheet accounts, with support for budgeting and FP&A.

You will participate in SOX controls, audits, and process improvements within a fast-paced finance team. A BA in accounting/finance with 2+ years of experience and CPA plans are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Two+ years accounting experience.
• CPA planned or obtained is a plus.
• Advanced Excel; Oracle/JDE or comparable ERP system.
• Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and month-end close tasks.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews of income statements.
• Support FP&A with budgeting and forecasting; ensure accurate spend accounting.
• Perform SOX controls and assist audits.
• Collaborate with Finance and other groups to improve processes.

Description

• Prepare journal entries and perform other month-end, quarterly and annual accounting tasks.




• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and complete analytical reviews of income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions.




• Support corporate functions and FP&A in budgeting and forecasting and in ensuring actual spend is accounted for properly.




• Perform SOX controls and provide support in both the external and internal audits.




• Work with others in Finance and other internal groups to improve accounting processes.




• Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX standards.




• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field.




• Two+ years experience in accounting a plus.




• Plans to obtain CPA or already licensed, a plus.




• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Oracle, JDE or comparable ERP system preferred.




• Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles.




• A high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement, and attention to detail in a fast-paced changing environment




• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
