Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Corporate Accountant in Charlotte, NC to manage financial reporting, fixed assets, and lease accounting under US GAAP. The role collaborates with external auditors, tax providers, and risk teams in a global manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and proficiency in Dynamics 365 and OneStream. CPA preferred. This position is based in our Charlotte office with onsite work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant accounting experience in a large corporate or public firm.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial consolidations, and technical accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain fixed assets and lease subledgers in Dynamics 365 with accuracy.
  • Assist month-end and year-end close, including intercompany eliminations.
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries on consistent accounting policies and reporting.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and memo writing; support audits.

Visit us at packaging.toppan.comSummary Description:The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, managing the accounting of fixed assets and the accounting for leases (ASC 842), consolidation accounting, technical accounting research, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, including outsourced tax services, external auditors, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex, global manufacturing environment, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Excel.What you’ll be doing:Financial Reporting & Consolidation AccountingAssist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset and lease subledger in Dynamics 365, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies.Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the parent corporation.Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations.Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting policies and reporting.Technical Accounting & ComplianceResearch and analyze complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.Provide guidance on accounting policies and implementation of new accounting standards.Assist in the preparation of white papers and technical accounting memos.Audit & Internal ControlsServe as a key liaison for external auditors, ensuring timely completion of annual audits.Support internal financial controls and implement best practices to enhance financial accuracy.Work closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen governance and risk management frameworks.Tax & Risk Management LiaisonAct as the primary point of contact for outsourced tax service providers, ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting.Coordinate with risk management teams to ensure appropriate financial reporting and disclosures related to insurance, claims, and other risk-related matters.This position is located in our Charlotte, NC Office (South End) and onsiteWe’d love to hear from you if:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a large corporate or public accounting firm (Big 4 experience is a plus).Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial consolidations, and technical accounting principles.Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly desired.Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting tools is strongly preferred.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Power Query, etc.).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.At TOPPAN Packaging Americas, We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support our employees’ overall wellbeing.
