Job summary

TalentBridge in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This entry-to-mid level role offers exposure to the full accounting and financial reporting cycle in a large, publicly traded environment.

You will support close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting while growing your technical foundation and contributing to process improvements in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
• 1–3 years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience.
• Understanding of US GAAP fundamentals.
• Exposure to month-end close, GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with financial data and researching discrepancies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across assigned corporate accounting areas.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and investigate anomalies and variances.
• Gain exposure across multiple corporate accounting areas beyond a single function.
• Assist with balance sheet accounts, intercompany activity, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze account activity to identify drivers of changes and variances.
• Assist with monthly financial and management reporting.
• Support internal controls and financial reporting in a public-company setting.
• Assist external audits with documentation.
• Collaborate with finance partners to resolve accounting issues.
• Participate in process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Corporate Accountant

A large, publicly traded organization headquartered in Charlotte is adding a Corporate Accountant to its corporate accounting team. What You'll Do

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across assigned corporate accounting areas
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accounts and investigate unusual activity, discrepancies, and account variances
• Gain exposure across multiple areas of corporate accounting rather than being limited to one narrow function
• Support accounting activities involving areas such as accruals, prepaids, allocations, intercompany activity, and other balance sheet accounts
• Analyze account activity and help identify the underlying drivers behind changes and variances
• Assist with monthly financial and management reporting
• Support internal control and financial reporting requirements within a public-company environment
• Assist with external audit requests and supporting documentation
• Work with accounting and finance partners across the organization to research and resolve accounting issues
• Participate in process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Approximately 1–3 years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
• Exposure to month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and/or account reconciliations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with financial data and researching discrepancies
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work

Highly Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Public accounting experience
• Experience within a large corporate or publicly traded environment
• CPA, CPA candidate, or interest in pursuing CPA certification
• Experience with ERP, consolidation, or account reconciliation systems
• Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and formulas
