Job summary

The Department of Public Safety in Anchorage is seeking an ATU Corporal to deliver both basic and advanced police training for new and veteran officers. You will operate in a structured, professional setting with regular TDY to the Sitka academy.

Ideal candidates have teaching experience, adult learning expertise, strong writing and organizational skills, and a record in law enforcement including trooper service. Travel and on-site duties are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of law enforcement experience, including at least one year as a State Trooper.
• Substitution allowed: one year as an Alaska Police Standards Council certified officer.
• Experience in conducting police training and evaluating recruit performance.
• Willingness to travel frequently for training at the Sitka academy.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced police training to new and veteran officers.
• Deliver instruction in a structured, professional environment.
• Manage frequent TDY assignments to the academy for up to two weeks.
• Support the Advanced Training Unit's mission in Anchorage and Sitka.
