Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) seeks a Program Director for Cornerstone to lead program operations at 137 Belmont Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. The role requires exceptional leadership, strong management experience, and proven ability to work with government contracts and nonprofit services for youth, children and families.

The Director will supervise professional staff, coordinate with DYCD and DOE, and ensure compliance with funder requirements while maintaining program quality and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Elementary Education with strong management experience (5+ years).
• Excellent leadership, communication and supervisory skills to motivate staff and manage performance.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and management for all aspects of high quality program services delivery to clients from vulnerable populations in accordance with funder and regulatory requirements; serve as a role model.
• Supervision and coverage for direct reports and on-site staff; oversee day-to-day activities of the center.
• Develop educational and recreational programs per DYCD/DOE/DOH guidelines; ensure goals align with contract obligations.
• Direct reporting to DYCD Program Manager and participation in Site/Audit visits and director meetings.
• Monitor DYCD Cornerstone Database for contract compliance reporting, enrollment and participation.
