Job summary

ADM in Decatur, IL is seeking a Rail Loadout Operator to safely load and unload railcars and trucks with bulk products. The role involves operating trackmobile or shuttle wagons, collecting samples, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Experience in manufacturing, production and/or similar military environment (preferred).
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written).

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload railcars and trucks in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
  • Operate rail movement equipment such as a trackmobile or shuttle wagon to position railcars safely.
  • Collect and label product samples for quality testing, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
  • Apply seals, placards, and labels to railcars and trucks per customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform basic data entry, scanning, and documentation through ADMway or related automated systems.
  • Monitor loadout automation and verify that weights, product types, and railcar/truck numbers are correct.
  • Follow all safety protocols including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), fall protection, and confined space entry procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping and equipment cleaning to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist maintenance and operations personnel with troubleshooting loadout or rail movement issues.
  • Work outdoors year-round, frequently at heights and in variable conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Operators must follow strict safety and environmental procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), confined space, and fall protection practices.
