Job summary

Ashland Foundry & Machine Works seeks a capable helper to learn and perform core making and molding tasks on large and small benches. Tasks include handling boxes, operating overhead cranes or forklifts, preparing boxes, loading rods and hooks, and ramming cores as required.

You will learn to set and secure pieces, finish cores, apply core wash, and assemble sections while maintaining safe, tidy work practices. Team collaboration is essential to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn multiple phases of core making and molding.
• Willingness to operate conveyors, cranes, forklifts and hand tools.
• Capable of preparing boxes, setting up rods and hooks, ramming and finishing cores.
• Commitment to safe, tidy and efficient work practices.

Responsibilities

• Follow established core making and molding practices.
• Read and interpret shop cards, sketches or blueprints as needed.
• Assist with setting up, ramming, venting and finishing cores to specification.
