About Jerritt Canyon

The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.

This role directs core shed personnel, establishes daily work priorities, oversees the safe and compliant execution of core handling, sampling, shipping, inventory, and storage activities, and ensures quality standards are consistently met. Working closely with drilling companies, geologists, Mine Operations, and laboratories, the Core Shed Supervisor provides leadership, technical oversight, and decision‑making support to ensure sample integrity, accurate data management, and efficient core shed performance.

Responsibilities
  • Follow, model, and promote First Majestic safety policies, values, and standards, ensuring core shed personnel consistently work in accordance with established safety expectations.

  • Supervise personnel performing sampling, photography, density testing coordination, and shipping of core samples, ensuring established procedures and quality standards are followed.
  • Oversee density test programs and related laboratory coordination to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Maintain, implement, and continuously improve core shed procedures, standards, and work practices to support consistent and effective performance.
  • Review and verify core shed documentation, database entries, chain‑of‑custody records, inventory controls, and related information for accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.
  • Collaborate with drilling companies, geologists, mine operations, laboratories, and other stakeholders to coordinate priorities, resolve issues, and support operational needs.
  • Identify operational, safety, staffing, and quality risks or opportunities that may impact core shed duties and implement corrective actions or elevate matters as appropriate.
  • Lead daily planning meetings with the core shed team to communicate priorities, expectations, safety requirements, production needs, and performance goals.
  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly reports related to sampling, shipping, storage, staffing needs, productivity, and core shed performance.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and career development support to core shed personnel.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action processes for core shed personnel in coordination with management and Human Resources.
