Job description

About Jerritt Canyon

The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining‑friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.

  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, including onboarding, skills development, and cross‑training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and reinforce high‑quality workplace examinations and hazard recognition.
  • Enforce housekeeping standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment across all areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and employee development to build and retain a high‑performing team.
  • Coordinate and supervise the execution of maintenance activities within the process plant, including proper equipment shutdown and preparation.
  • Collaborate closely with metallurgical and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor plant performance, identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate regularly with peer supervisors and leadership to ensure alignment on priorities, performance, and operational needs.
  • Support the development and refinement of operating procedures and strategies to improve efficiency and equipment utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records, including employee training status, performance feedback, and operational reporting.
  • Utilize maintenance and operational systems (e.g., SAP) to support work management and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The above responsibilities are representative and may not include all assigned duties.
