Job summary

Oklo Inc. is seeking a Core Mechanical Design Engineer to design core assemblies for advanced reactors, guiding concepts through final design and manufacturability refinements.

You will generate 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, coordinate with analysis and manufacturing teams, and contribute to design reviews and process improvements. This role demands strong GD&T, DFM/DFA, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Experience with CAD version control using PDM/PLM tools (Teamcenter, Windchill).
• Solid understanding of DFM/DFA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018 to drawings.
• Knowledge of materials selection and fabrication techniques.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams including analysis, manufacturing, and systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for core components satisfying performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with BOMs.
• Produce and maintain documentation defining component requirements.
• Lead design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Perform manufacturability and tolerance analyses to prep parts for fabrication.
• Coordinate with analysis teams to support design validation and testing.
