Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Saint Francis Hospital seeks a Core Laboratory Director to provide executive leadership of the centralized core laboratory, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and timely diagnostic testing across hospital departments and outreach programs.

This role oversees chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, coagulation, pathology, microbiology, molecular, and automation platforms, partnering with Medical Directors and corporate leadership to meet regulatory and clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field required.
• ASCP MLS or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a clinical lab.
• 2+ years in directorship in a high-volume core lab environment preferred.
• Experience with laboratory automation systems and LIS platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality management.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-volume automated testing platforms and workflow optimization.
• Collaborate with Laboratory Medical Director, supervisors, and leadership to meet standards.
• Direct core disciplines: chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, coagulation, pathology, microbiology, molecular, and automation.
• Ensure services support timely clinical decision-making and patient safety while complying with regulations.
