Job summary

Kettering Health Hamilton is seeking a PRN phlebotomy technician to perform pre-analytic specimen processing, venipuncture, and specimen labeling across patient areas. The role includes collecting blood and urine samples, instructing patients, and performing other assigned duties.

Ideal candidates have phlebotomy training or program completion, and are at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and/or high school graduation or the equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year experience or graduation from a phlebotomy program.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytic processing of specimens, collects specimens, accession and label specimens, and distributes specimens including blood samples by venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Instructs patients in the collection of urine samples and tolerance tests in all patient areas.
• Other duties assigned.
