Job summary

Kettering Health Hamilton is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to perform pre-analytic processing and specimen collection, including blood draws by venipuncture and capillary puncture, in all patient areas.

You will instruct patients on urine sample collection and tolerances; follow safety standards and assist with other duties as assigned. Must be at least 18 or have a high school diploma; graduation from a phlebotomy program is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and/or high school graduation or the equivalent.
• Phlebotomy program graduation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytic processing of specimens; collects specimens; accessions, labels and distributes specimens including blood samples by venipuncture and capillary puncture in all patient areas
• Instructs patients in the collection of urine samples and tolerance test in all patient areas.
