Job summary

Labcorp in Nashville, TN is seeking a Clinical Core Laboratory Supervisor to lead the Core Laboratory at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. Work schedule involves evenings and nights with potential variations.

You will supervise daily operations, mentor staff, ensure accurate testing and timely reporting, maintain Quality Control/Assurance, and ensure compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations. Strong leadership and LIS proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science or Medical Technology.
• TN Supervisor License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• 5+ years of MLS/MLT experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Core Laboratory department.
• Perform bench work and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations.
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed, and results are reported in a timely manner.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department.
• Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts are properly staffed.
• Research and resolve production errors and escalate when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Ensure equipment is maintained through Quality Control.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Evaluate new process improvements and make recommendations.
• Meet regularly with direct reports for coaching and development.
• Ensure compliance with state and Federal regulations.
• Administer and manage policies and procedures.
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.
