Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Core Lab at Baptist Downtown. This part-time opportunity requires licensure in Florida in Chemistry and Hematology, with 2 years of Medical Technologist experience and an Associate degree.

Bachelor's degree is preferred, and certification/licensure requirements apply. Work closely with a team of 7–8 MTs and 4 Processors in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensure as a MT/MLT or equivalent is required in Florida.
• Certification preferred for MT/MLT; licenses may be required.
• Experience in core lab settings and familiarity with SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in SOP manuals.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and act as Charge Technologist in the absence of other supervisors.
• Instruct new employees and students as needed.

Education

Associate degree

Bachelor's degree preferred

Certified Medical Technologist (MT) preferred

Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred

Licensed Medical Technologist required

Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician required
