Job summary

OHSU is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis and more within the Core Laboratory. The role emphasizes accurate processing, reporting via EPIC LIS and telephone, and maintaining quality control.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year accredited MLT program with ASCP/AMT certification within 90 days of hire, or a B.S. in a chemical/biological science with related lab experience and certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2 year accredited MLT program and ASCP within 90 days of hire; AMT certification within 90 days may apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science with two years of Laboratory Technical Assistant training/experience; MLT ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in all Core Laboratory sections with accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare samples and determine specimen acceptability; report results via computer and telephone.
