Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technologist to join the Meridian Medical Center team in Tualatin, OR. The position is casual/per diem with responsibilities spanning specimen acceptability, generalist duties across hospital labs, and routine to complex procedures per SOPs.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Medical Technology and ASCP or AMT certification, with preference for 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Medical Technology
• ASCP or AMT certification
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Function as a generalist across hospital laboratory departments
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
