Job summary

tb hcareers seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform moderate to high complexity testing across hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and chemistry. The role includes quality control, follow-up on out-of-range results, and communicating critical values to teams.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field, at least two years' lab experience, and New York State licensure as a CLT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or in one of the physical sciences
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in designated clinical laboratory setting
• Current New York State License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist
• ASCP certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist - PREFERRED
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information System (LIS) – Preferred
• Verbal and spatial ability, form perception, finger and manual dexterity and clerical ability
• Near visual acuity for reading results and viewing screens
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to hear alarms and other devices
• Color blindness test may be required
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer skills

Responsibilities

• Conducts moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in areas such as hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and chemistry
• Performs quality control on all tests and follows up on out of range results
• Relays critical values to appropriate teams and documents results in LIS
