Job summary

Required is a CLS, Medical Technology, or Life Sciences degree, NY licensure, and relevant ASCP certifications; new graduates accepted and 2–4 years preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) or Medical Technology or Life Sciences.
• New Graduates accepted
• 2–4 years of relevant clinical expertise in a hospital laboratory setting—PREFERRED
• Current New York State License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist
• ASCP MT certification
• ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist certification—PREFERRED
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and chemistry.
• Performs quality control on all tests.
• Performs follow-up on out-of-range results and relays critical values to appropriate teams.
• Utilizes LIS to document examination results.
