Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Cellular Therapies Processor to handle cord blood units, document procedures and manufacture cord blood products in a regulated laboratory setting.

The role is full-time with four 10-hour shifts weekly, including one weekend day. A high school diploma or GED is required (degrees preferred). Must lift up to 50 lbs and communicate effectively with teams and partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience in a blood bank or transplant setting preferred
• Experience in a cGMP-regulated lab preferred
• Valid driver's license required and LifeSouth eligibility rules apply
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
• Proficient with computer software applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to work a varied schedule including some weekends

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal and state laws protecting health information
• Receive and perform daily cord blood unit assessments
• Process cord blood units and prepare products per procedures
• Maintain donor and CBU records, update logs and QC documentation
• Submit maternal sample tubes and related documentation
• Interface with regional staff to share collection statistics
• Maintain cord blood equipment and essential supplies
• Ensure compliance with equipment/testing procedures per QA
• Represent LifeSouth to the public and partner institutions
