Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers seeks a Cord Blood Donation Coordinator to educate clinicians and donors about cord blood collection. The role involves coordinating collection site activities, supervising staff, and traveling to partner hospitals to promote the Cord Blood Bank program.

You will conduct staff trainings, present to healthcare professionals, and help develop donor education materials. This is a full‑time role with hospital outreach across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or combination of education and experience).
• Valid driver's license and LifeSouth eligibility.
• Comfort in hospital settings and communicating with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel at least 25%.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in marketing or project management preferred.
• Experience in cellular therapy/cord blood processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate clinicians and potential donors on the cord blood donation process.
• Facilitate daily activities at collection site(s) and ensure they are performed
• Supervise the Cord Blood Collection Specialists in the region
• Train new collection staffConduct regular meetings with collection staff to review collection site goals
• Propose incentive programs to increase collections
• Make presentations to healthcare professionals and expecting families
• Distribute educational materials in the labor and delivery units and private Obstetric offices within the assigned district
• Maintain effective working relationships with local hospitals and their staff
• Educate clinicians regarding proper cord blood collection technique
• Co-develop donor education materials and public service announcements targeting minority populations
• Attend health fairs and other sponsored events to promote and increase the awareness of Cord Blood
• Act as liaison between Cord Blood and hospitals within the assigned district

Jacksonville, FL. This position will work within the community and with hospital partners to bring awareness to the LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank program through public education and recruitment of donor moms.

LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank is a community-based public cord blood bank that collects and stores umbilical cord blood for the purpose of clinical cures and research in the field of stem cell transplantation

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree (A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
• Valid driver's license. Also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
• Be comfortable working and navigating in a hospital setting and communicating with healthcare professionals at every level
• Ability to co-create and deliver relevant presentations to superiors, peers and subordinates within, as well as outside of, the organization
• Willingness and ability to travel at least 25%
• Previous healthcare experience preferred
• One year of Marketing or Project Management experience preferred
• Experience in cellular therapy, cord blood processing/research, and/or leadership experience in a medical laboratory preferred
