Job summary

Hawks Cay Resort in Marathon, FL is hiring a friendly Food & Beverage Server to greet guests, take orders, and deliver food and drinks with warm, attentive service.

You will process payments, keep service stations clean, coordinate with bartenders and kitchen staff, and follow safety and resort policies in a fast‑paced outdoor setting.

Flexibility for weekends/holidays is required; previous serving experience is preferred, and professional appearance and teamwork are expected.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly, explain menu offerings, answer questions, and provide recommendations.

Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.

Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining service and presentation standards.

Provide attentive service throughout the guest experience, including checking on satisfaction and responding to requests.

Process cash, credit card, and other approved payments accurately.

Maintain clean and organized service stations, tables, counters, and designated guest areas.

Follow all food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.

Verify guest identification and comply with applicable laws and resort policies when serving alcoholic beverages.

Communicate effectively with bartenders, kitchen staff, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure timely service.

Assist with opening and closing duties, restocking supplies, and preparing service areas for daily operations.

Monitor guest areas and promptly report spills, hazards, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Maintain a professional appearance and comply with resort uniform and grooming standards.

Follow all Hawks Cay Resort and EOS Hospitality policies, procedures, and service standards.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Previous food and beverage serving experience preferred.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Basic math skills and the ability to handle payments accurately.

Ability to learn and operate a POS system.

Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and peak water park operating hours.

Must meet applicable minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Must obtain and maintain any required food safety or alcohol service certifications in accordance with applicable laws and resort requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull food service items and supplies as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to move safely through active guest areas and maintain awareness of water park activities.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including carrying trays, stocking supplies, and cleaning service areas.

Deliver warm, personalized, and professional service to every guest.
