SpaceX is seeking a Composites Technician (COPV) in Westminster, MD to manufacture flight-critical COPVs from liner prep through overwrap and final assembly. The role requires meticulous handwork in a fast-paced production environment with travelers and drawing-based instructions.

Responsibilities include winding COPV layers, curing, trimming, bonding, and validating dimensions with calipers and micrometers. Onsite shift, long hours and travel as needed are part of the position.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience manufacturing COPVs or other filament-wound pressure-critical hardware is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Prepare metallic COPV liners and bond interfaces for overwrap.
• Manufacture COPVs by filament winding composite fiber onto liners with proper winding patterns and resin.
• Set up and operate filament winding equipment, monitor fiber path and resin wet-out.
• Cure COPV overwraps in ovens or autoclaves and inspect finished parts.
• Assemble COPV hardware and verify dimensions with precision tools.
• Follow travelers, SOPs, and record work and nonconformances.
