Job summary

SpaceX in Westminster, MD is seeking a Build Engineer, COPVS (STARSHIP) to lead production, qualification, and design/analysis of COPVs for Starship and Super Heavy Booster. You will develop processes, create CAD models, and drive manufacturability improvements on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with DFMA and design for manufacture.
• Experience transitioning complex products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Work with vehicle analysts to ensure solutions meet design and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop production procedures/processes and manage transitions to high-rate production.
• Coordinate development, qualification, and testing of systems and tooling to meet hardware deadlines.
• Lead on-site design engineering for efficient build of parts and assemblies.
• Create CAD models and prints for flight and tooling components.
• Maintain build schedules and resolve manufacturing discrepancies.
