Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp., seeks a Welder for the Fabrication Team in Minneapolis, MN, for 1st shift. The role involves setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes to meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include copper GTAW welding on bus bars and copper components, reading drawings, and ensuring weld quality and dimensional accuracy in a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 year welding degree or High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant welding experience.
• Must pass an FCAW 3G and GMAW-SC 2G weld test.
• Experience GTAW copper welding or copper brazing preferred.
• Knowledge of copper material characteristics, heat input, distortion control, and proper preparation techniques preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts, perform basic math, and conversions.
• Ability to inspect weld quality to engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and fabricate components using GTAW, FCAW and GMAW processes.
• Perform copper GTAW welding on bus bars and copper components.
• Prepare copper materials by cleaning, beveling, and positioning for welding.
• Inspect copper welds for quality and accuracy to specs.
• Read drawings and determine weld specifications and settings.
• Maintain and document welded components and report rework as needed.
• Operate lifting and material handling equipment as required.
