Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a skilled worker for its Globe-Miami smelting complex near Phoenix. You will perform duties in Isa, electric furnace, convertor, anode and acid plants, with utility support and belt system operations. Strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential.

You will work in a mine/manufacturing plant setting with potential exposure to extreme conditions and rotating shifts. Prior experience with material handling equipment and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience with material handling equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• Completion of required academic and practical competencies with ability to pass a safety/written assessment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Isa smelting vessel and related systems like electric furnace and convertors.
• Handle belt systems, taps, and slag hauler in designated areas.
• Perform housekeeping and routine maintenance on smelter equipment.
• Assist with water, casting, hydraulic, and refining processes in the anode plant.
• Assist with starting/stopping valves and pumps in the acid plant.
• Support utility tasks including unloading and transferring materials via belt systems.
• Mentor coworkers and assist in developing SOPs; perform area housekeeping.
