Job summary

SBT Global, Inc. seeks a field technician to assist with copper layer-one installations in a large enterprise environment. You will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling, following industry standards and floor plans. Tasks include labeling, dressing cables, and updating SOPs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, be fluent in English, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check. On-site work with potential on-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation.
• Able to read floor plans and follow site designs.
• Experience with copper testing procedures at an introductory level is a plus.
• All work performed within standard safety and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, adjustment, and change of copper layer-one connections.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling in a large enterprise env.
• Label and dress copper cables per standards (TIA/EIA, ANSI/BICSI).
• Follow approved designs and communicate deviations to a senior technician.
• Use test equipment and record results; work from ticket system to close tasks.
• Document work and contribute to SOP upkeep; support on-call data center activities.
